Annual Section Dinner, January 28th |
|
The venue for the dinner was the same again this year, the Pitlessie Inn in Fife. Under new management, we had the same excellent quality food and the same excellent companionship as ever. A truly enjoyable evening with the only difference being more members there than ever. A fine start to the year and already plans being made for the International Jampot and our own camping weekend. |

| I was not there but even if I had been I would not have been able to describe all the adventures better than does. | |

| This became an impromptu club run. By the time we all arrived we were a bit damp and we skipped the run, especially as it took half the members back home! went down the Clay mine. This was a very interesting tour. Just to make life interesting the Ajay shed its headlight on the way up and its battery on the way home. | |

Alf Burgess had once again arranged for us to use the Scout Hut (the old Station) at Lochearnhead. This building is beautifully preserved, very well fitted out and supplemented by excellent simple cabins all set in a wooded valley. It is an excellent base although the possible routes are a little limited. Nevertheless Saturday's was a truly superb run to Inversnaid on Loch Lomond, running along a picturesque if somewhat bumpy road, with a stop at the visitors centre in the Duke's Pass and at Loch Katrine. I missed out on the Sunday run as I was desperate to see the British Superbikes down at Knockhill and just to keep life interesting the Ajay broke it's rear wheel spindle - "pass the brown Barbour trousers" |
