The dinner this year was held at the Two Bridges in South Queenferry. Quite a breathtaking view between the 2 Forth Bridges and also a very entertaining view of a vast selection of pictures of recent events coutesy of. The meal was good and the only minor niggle was the hotel using lots of small tables. However after the meal we sorted that and got down to plotting the events ahead including the International Rally |

| For this we were back up to the excellent facilities of the old Lochearnhead station. This station abandoned in 1951 has, since 1962, been restored and maintained by the Hertfordshire Scouts as an activity centre. The turn out was good with a mixture of AMC bikes and some newer machinery. Weather for the early arrivals on Friday was horrible of epic proportions. Saturday was excellent as we headed of into the Trossachs and a trip on the Sir Walter Scott paddle steamer on Loch Katrine, then over the Duke's Pass for most and even a trip into Balquidder to visit the grave of Rob Roy McGregor for some of us. | |

Sunday started with an interesting run up the rough and challenging service road for the hydro electric dam running from Killin into the head of Glen Lyon. After a refreshing snack at the Bridge of Balgie Post Office we headed back our various ways with a trip over the Kenmore test hill into Glen Quaich for the more adventurous then on down through the Sma' Glen and onto Crieff and the central lowlands and homeward. Unfortunately the rain came back with a vengeance. An excellent weekend was brought to a very unfortunate conclusion when the organiser and our section secretary Alf Burgess was hit by a car exiting a bend on the wrong side of the road just a few miles from home. Alf spent a month in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee with some serious fractures. He is now home and making good progress but will take a while to recover. Everyone in the Section and among his friends Internationally will I know be wishing him well. |
