| Section members were shocked to the core when out of the blue long time (forever)serving section rep Alf Burgess announce his intention to stand down. As his last act as our defacto leader he organised and internet based election for a Scottish Section Committee. The winners(?) were declared at the Annual Dinner held on the 30th January at the Royal Hotel in the Bridge of Allan. Elected were Chairman & Section Rep- Dennis Jackson; Treasurer - Steve Pennycook; Events Co-ordinator - Bill Curry; Secretary - Rod Towers. There was unanimous approval for a vote of thanks to Alf for his role in keeping the section going for so many years. The committee decided that ther guiding principle would be a minimum of bureucracy and a maximum of motorbikes and that the committee would be subject to re-election annual at the Annual Dinner or the end of January. The Annual Dinner was a great success this year with an attendance of 32 and election results there was already plenty to talk about. However, this year we had a fundraisiing raffle which was very successful (Alf ran out of tickets). Many thanks must go to thise who donated the prizes. |
